Saw you in Dim the Fluorescents the other day, watching Esther Kahn again. Are there any other movies you see as inspired by Cassavetes' Opening Night?
Off the top of my head, All About My Mother (Almodóvar) references it pretty directly. Birdman also feels like it draws quite a bit from Opening Night too!
Thank you. Re-watching All About My Mother; Birdman came up in my research too. Black Swan, Black Bear, and Perfect Blue also came to mind, but not as closely.

Awesome list! The first scene in Maurice Pialat’s A Nos Amours takes place at a theatre camp! https://www.criterion.com/current/posts/426-a-nos-amours-the-ties-that-wound
